In the Summer of 2004 the Parish Council, supported by the Nottinghamshire Rural Communities Council formed a steering group of interested individuals, and representative of village organisations.  Initially the committee had to apply for a grant from the National Lottery - 'Awards for All' to enable them  to put together a questionnaire adapted from a nationally available computer software package.  The resulting survey document comprised of 65 questions that covered the demographics of the Parish, employment, transport and traffic, housing, utilities and services, sports and social activities and the local environment.  The resultant survey forms were delivered to every household in the Parish.

Results of the questionnaire are published below:

On 1st October 2005 over a hundred residents attended a Parish Plan Action Day, the results of which now form the Ranskill and Torworth Action Plan 2006-2016.

Action Plan

An evening was held on 8th March to establish committees to take the Action Plan forward.  Over fifty people attended the meeting and the following committees were formed:

Village Hall, Environment, Young People and Neighbourhood Watch.

The Action Plan will be reviewed on a twice yearly basis

March 2006 - The Parish Plan is now complete and a copy is to be delivered to every household in the villages of Ranskill and Torworth.  The Parish Councils would like to thank everyone involved in its production: those of you who completed questionnaires and attended the Action Day.  The Parish Plan Steering Group for the great deal of time and effort given to produce this plan for the future.  Special thanks to Jonathan Dawson of the Nottinghamshire Rural Community Council for his help and advice in the production of this document.
